🌅 Sunset in Valpolicella. I ❤️ 🍷 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One of my travel goals is to go wine tasting in all the best wine regions in the world. So of course for the honeymoon, we had to go here. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ On my round the world trip I went wine tasting in South Africa (love pinotage), at 3 different places in NZ (great whites), in Chile, and in Argentina (love Malbec). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve previously gone to Napa and Sonoma twice. The Pinot in the Russian River Valley is great. My parents and I love La Crema Pinot noir, so I recommend it for those of you in the US. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Unfortunately, I didn’t make it down to wine country in Australia, so we will have to go next time. I’ve been to France a couple times, but never to the wine regions, so that’s also on the list. Same for Spain and Portugal. Been there, but didn’t go to the wine regions. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Do you like wine tasting? Daydreaming of traveling again. My hat has never been more fitting! 👒 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We will travel again one day. But eventually the prices will probably go way up to make up for these losses. So how do you save money when you travel? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For me, I do a lot of research and usually get an affordable place to stay. Then I splurge on food and experiences. As long as the place is clean, safe, and in a good location, it doesn’t have to be super fancy. I go to places to see them, not stay at the hotel. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For example, this is Sveti Stefan, which yes, we referred to as Sweaty Stefan. 😂 We scoped out this side of the beach on our way back from another excursion and found that it was too crowded. So the next day we paid for the private beach on the other side. It was expensive, but totally worth it. 🌸 Yesterday we moved baby bunny into her room! Such a big girl already. 💖 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Now that Alice is 6 months and sitting up on her own, we are also going to teach her how to use a sippy cup. So far she really likes biting it and holding it (advice: do not attempt to take it from the baby 😂). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Thanks to @twistshakebaby for this cute sippy cup. It’s the prettiest one I’ve seen, so I was curious to see if it actually worked well. Y’all know I would say if it sucked. It has a little stopper you can put inside and I was pleasantly surprised that no water leaked out at all even though I was holding it upside down for awhile. 💨 Santorini is THIS windy 💨 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is what the Instagrammers don’t show you. 😬 I went there 4 years ago for Easter break, but I’m not sure I recommend it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Athens was great, but it was a bit too early to go to Santorini. It was too cold for the beaches/swimming, and a lot of the things were closed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However, it was great to be there for their national day. And my favorite thing = no tourists! 😊 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That’s the thing about going places in off season.
