This is my left wrist in Prague-
Many of you are probably familiar with the location in the first picture (Strawberry Fields in Central Park), but where am I in the second image? The Lennon Wall in Prague is literally off the beaten path: on a quiet side street devoid of tourists, you will find this colorful, graffiti-covered wall. In Prague’s past, the visage of John Lennon painted here stood as a symbol for democracy and freedom, something the city’s inhabitants did not have under communist rule. Though the authoritarian government tried to paint over it, dissidents would quickly restore the imagery.
Resembling Berlin’s East Side Gallery (what remains of the Berlin Wall), The Lennon Wall in Prague is now a place for graffiti artists to paint murals and tourists to snap photos. Not everything on the wall is related to John Lennon, but many of the images are.
These photos were taken July 2013, but the wall is always changing, so it may look different when you stop by.
The great thing is that the Lennon Wall is located just off the entrance to the Charles Bridge, near other major tourist attractions, so it is easy to stop by without having to really go out of your way to see it.
