Right now in Oslo, about 50% of the under 35 crowd is wearing these:
Another 20% are wearing a different color of Converse. I have owned about 20 pairs of All Stars (recently reduced a bit thanks to the move) and I find it amusing to see everyone walking around in American brand shoes. In Oslo, a pair of these shoes will cost you 699NOK or $118! I paid about $40 or less for most of my pairs. Next time I go home to visit the states, I’m going to have to pack an extra suitcase filled with Converse and sell them for a profit.
Of the non-Converse-wearing group, about 20% are wearing deck shoes (usually the “sosse” types, more on them in another entry). The remaining 10% are wearing boots, some other type of sneaker (usually quite colorful and tacky), or something else.
It seems you’re on to us. I’m going to the states soon, maybe I should consider expanding my shoe wardrobe.
Haha you can’t go wrong with Converse! 🙂
