Happy Valentine’s Day, my love! ❤️ It’s been 800 days since we first met in Australia, and I can’t believe how much has happened since then. But with you, everything has always just clicked. I was ready to be a solo traveler for the rest of my life, but this journey is infinitely better with you. I love you more than anything, @rurikhenry. ❤️❤️ 📷 @monamoe_com —————————————————- #happyvalentinesday #couplesgoals #nordiskebryllup #wayupnorth #weddinginspo #destinationweddings #theknot #weddingwire #junebugweddings #bryllup #wedding #visitnorway #ilovenorway #norge #norgefoto #bestofnorway #destinorway #norway #dreamchasersnorway #nortrip #fjord
I know it’s too early to be over winter, but I’m really sick of the cold and snow in Oslo. Would rather be back in St. Augustine! Luckily, we got a little break from the cold at Christmas and it will be a little warmer this weekend. However, it was amusing how cold the people in Florida were. It was a little chilly in St.Augustine, but no big deal. The people there were in full down coats, hats, scarves, and some people were walking around with quilts draped over them, probably because they didn’t have any jackets. 😂 Meanwhile, I’m like, ok I guess I should wear leggings and a jean jacket. I guess it comes down to what you’re used to! ——————————————————— #staugustine #flaglercollege #staugustinefl #lovefl #roamflorida #pureflorida #floridalife #staysaltyflorida #visitflorida #girlsmeetglobe #citizenfemme #sheisnotlost #womenwhoexplore #girlsborntotravel #shetravels #femaletravelbloggers #globelletravels #girlsthatwander #travelgirls
🏡 We bought a house yesterday!!!! 🏡 I’m officially a grownup who owns property. It’s not as old and small as this coffee shop in the picture 😂 It’s a 3-bedroom townhouse on Nesodden, a peninsula that juts into the Oslo fjord. It has a cute little yard, but it’s also right next to this big forest area and not far from the water either. We move in on May 1st, and then I’ll take some pics once we are all settled. After renting for so many years, I’m so excited to have my own place. After living in NYC for 5 years, and then central Oslo since 2012, I’m also ready to be in a more peaceful place with more trees and fewer people! Although I’m pretty sure that means we won’t be traveling much now that we owe everybody money 😝😬 p.s. I don’t even drink coffee (I know, I know), but I thought this coffee shop in old St Augustine looked so cute. ———————————————————————— #staugustine #staugustinefl #lovefl #roamflorida #pureflorida #floridalife #staysaltyflorida #visitflorida #girlsmeetglobe #citizenfemme #sheisnotlost #womenwhoexplore #girlsborntotravel #shetravels #femaletravelbloggers #globelletravels #girlsthatwander #travelgirls #coffeeshop
I was in DC last week with my students on a class trip. When we walked by the Capitol, I noticed the clouds had made this sharp divide across the sky above it, and it seemed too perfect for the current state of affairs! I didn’t photoshop this, but even the sky above Congress is divided. It snowed the night before and everything was really quiet. We later realized that schools had been closed that day! ❄️😂 For us coming from Norway, this was amusing as there was barely any snow and we never cancel school for some snow. I’m so sorry for all the federal employees affected by the shutdown. Although it also ruined many of our plans (all the Smithsonian museums are closed), it’s nothing compared with not being able to pay your bills. I thanked the TSA officer who was working at the airport when we left, and he really appreciated it. Please be kind to them! Hoping this is over soon 🤞🏻🤞🏻 ——————————————————————— #washingtondc #thecapitol #congress #shutdown #sky #snowday #welltravelled #passionpassport #goplayoutside #travelgram #instatravel
I had to see this when we went to St.Augustine. However, we suspect there’s been a lot of work done to it. It doesn’t quite look a few hundred years old. 😝 The moment students hand in an assignment, they’re like “Did you grade it? Did you grade it?” As if I’m a machine that doesn’t sleep or eat. I live only for them. Although sometimes it can actually feel that way. I wish students had a better understanding of how much work we teachers do. There’s a lot of focus on how we need to understand them, but not the other way around. We spend our evenings and weekends trying to grade all these papers and make plans, and some students just complain all the time. It’s not easy, and many teachers get burned out and quit. However, it’s worth it when your students improve and do well! I really care about them and want them to do the best they can. And it’s definitely nice when your students tell you they appreciate you, although I wish that happened more often. If any of my current or former students are reading this, appreciate your teachers! 😉🍎 —————————————————————— #staugustine #staugustinefl #schoolhouse #teacherlife #lovefl #roamflorida #pureflorida #floridalife #staysaltyflorida #visitflorida #teachersofinstagram #teacherfriends
I’ve been a lot happier since I stopped caring about all the Instagram BS and have just focused on the things I like about it. I recommend it. I like traveling, seeing new places, and taking pictures of it. I like to edit and share the pics of those experiences as a creative outlet. I like to preserve the memories of all the beautiful places I have seen. And I like nice people and their nice pictures of the cool places they have been, especially if they are unique. I like that this space feels less negative than FB, where all the commenters are arguing all the time. I like “meeting” likeminded people. I do not like follow/unfollowers, but I don’t care anymore. If someone unfollows me, I just unfollow back and don’t give it any more thought. It’s not personal. I don’t like advertising posts for freaking watches or whatever other garbage I’m never going to buy. If you genuinely like a product or place and aren’t just trying to hustle, that’s different. I’m not using your 15% off code. I don’t like the lame quotes where people are trying to be deep about life. I don’t like the word/title “influencer” and never have. I don’t like feeling like I need to be on here all day, every day, so now I don’t worry about it. Why do people have to apologize for not posting for a day or two? Sorry, for having a real life? No. So what if you lose some followers? Only lame, narcissistic, wannabe influencers are going to unfollow you if you don’t constantly engage and post! These are the things I realized when I got really busy and stressed from work last fall and stayed off of here for a bit. A social media detox gives you perspective and now I want to keep it! p.s. I was genuinely concerned that I would fall into that fountain because I couldn’t balance on the edge. 😂 ⛲️ ———————————————————————— #staugustine #flaglercollege #girlsmeetglobe #citizenfemme #sheisnotlost #womenwhoexplore #girlsborntotravel #shetravels #femaletravelbloggers #globelletravels #girlsthatwander #travelgirls #lovefl #roamflorida #pureflorida #floridalife #staysaltyflorida #visitflorida
